| History In 2003, Jim Cunningham started a LADIES 40+ Division with 24 players. The games have been on Saturday morning at Colman Park, with rain outs at Kenagy Park on Monday nights. The season ended on August 30th. At times, attendance had been a challenge. In 2004 a survey was done and the majority wanted to play on Monday evenings. Belle Neil took over as conference cordinator in. Aggressive recruiting in 2005 yielded 3 teams, plus one team from another league to create a 4 team league. In 2004, there were 54 ladies signed up with our league. In 2007 we had 8 teams playing ball on Monday evenings at Hartam Park in Lee's Summit. We need players to continue with the build-up this division. This league will start again in spring 2008. We are interested in all skill levels, from beginner to experienced. | KC Metro 40+ Women’s Softball League
Spring 2008 Get your team together or contact us to get on a team! In 2005, the Kansas City Metro 50+ Men’s Senior Softball League fielded 42 teams comprised of over 550 players (50 - 80+ years of age) playing in various divisions 5 days and evenings per week. Their league regularly has representation in national tournaments throughout the United States. We want the same for the 40+ women in the Kansas City area. In 2007 we fielded 8 teams. We want to bring together women to enjoy fun, fellowship, and good health through athletic competition. You don’t have to be a super athlete to play. Join the fun, build friendships, enjoy the sport with interesting, enthused women and add a spark to your life. If you or your team are interested in playing slow pitch softball and are at least 40 years young, please contact Belle Neil. As long as you turn 40 in 2008 you are eligible to play in the league and our SPA and SSUSA tournaments.
